Tras el éxito de mi última subida, el disco de Phoenix, que ya cuenta con 63 descargas, hoy les traigo el nuevo disco, recien salido del horno, de la banda neoyorkina Vampire Weekend.Primero les hablare del grupo para el que no lo conozca. Vampire Weekend es una formación que surgió en Nueva York, y que acaban de editar su segundo disco (el que subo). Se conocieron estudiando en la universidad de Columbia, y el nombre de la banda precisamente proviene de una película, que hicieron en su etapa universitaria, titulada así. En cuanto a su género musical, es algo peculiar, ya que mezclan a la perfección el indie, el pop y hasta ritmos africanos, o sintetizadores ochenteros, lo que ha hecho que algunos críticos lo clasifiquen de "afro-pop".
En cuanto al disco, podríamos decir que Vampire Weekend ha sabido pasar la prueba de mantener el nivel de su primer album, ya que estamos ante una buena continuación de este (como podemos constatar ante la similitud de la portada de ambos discos). En mi opinión, será uno de los discos del año, y sino tiempo al tiempo.
La canción que les pongo como adelanto, titulada "Horchata" trata sobre un joven que bebe horchata en diciembre para recordar un amor veraniego. Curiosa historia para una canción.
